Round 1

Picks 17-32
16. Cardinals: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

They would have liked Mykel W., but Grant is a fine pick.

17. Bengals: Mike Green, DE, Marshall

Defense has fallen apart and they fired a good DC.

18. Saints: Prospect not selected

(from SEA)

18. Saints: Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

(from SEA) I think most teams might have Sanders as QB2, but his bad luck is the Saints are the next to take one.

19. Buccaneers: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama

A pretty common pick I'll just go along with.

20. Giants: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

(from DEN) This is a prime spot for a QB swap up, even if we don't know if the Steelers would take Sanders. Pick #65 plus a little something more. The Broncos could also stay put and take Loveland or Hampton.

21. Steelers: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon

They won't mind this pick at all unless they really wanted Dart or Sanders.

22. Chargers: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

Pleased to have him available.

23. Packers: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

23. Packers: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

Nothing surprising here either.

24. Bills: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss

(from MIN) Beane has done this trade-up twice recently, and they have 10 picks to the Vikings four. Buffalo's two 4ths would do it. I'm a Bills fan and I'd rather they take the best of DT, Edge, CB - or even Safety or speed demon WR - at #30.

25. Texans: Grey Zabel, OT, North Dakota State

Position-versatile o-lineman.

26. Rams: Prospect not selected

Now, they could go QB as well.

26. Rams: Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss

They should draft a QB, but no value here.

27. Ravens: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

Safety 1 should be determined be style: Starks is rangier, Emmamwori is bigger. Kyle Hamilton can move closer to the LOS with Starks hanging deep.

28. Lions: James Pearce Jr., DE/OLB, Tennessee

The roster is obviously good. Biggest concern is they can't afford to keep all those young studs. Their defense will be better just by being healthier, but still, this is a good pick. Alternatively, they could take OG Tyler Booker.

29. Commanders: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina

He could go ~10 picks earlier. Egbuka is a possibility as well.

30. Vikings: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

(from BUF) Unless they really want Starks instead, this would definitely count as a good trade down for the Vikes.

31. Chiefs: Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State

A lot of people have them going D-line, but did you watch the Super Bowl?

32. Eagles: Donovan Ezeiruaka, OLB, Boston College

From the Eagles to the Eagles.
