Round 1

Picks 17-32
16. Cardinals: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Will Johnson had a so so 2024 but is still seen as a high caliber cornerback prospect, a position that the Cardinals really need help at.

17. Bengals: Mike Green, DE, Marshall

With all the Trey Hendrickson drama going on, the Bengals might need to find his replacement and Mike Green might have been a top 10 prospect if not for off the field concerns, something the Bengals have historically not been afraid of.

18. Seahawks: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

Nick Emmanwori is an athletic marvel that could use some NFL polishing. Seattle takes a chance hoping to invoke the Legion of Boom again.

19. Buccaneers: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama

Lavonte David isn't getting any younger and the Bucs draft his future replacement.

20. Broncos: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina

Much like the 2023 draft, we may see an unexpected running back drafted in the first round besides the generational talent that finds himself behind a much better o-line and equally impresses.

21. Steelers: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

Yet another great player falls to a good organization. The Steelers bolster their d-line and find a potential replacement for Cam Heyward down the road.

22. Chargers: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

Maybe Loveland doesn't make it this far but this seems like the most storybook ending for the Chargers. Jim Harbaugh is reunited with his Michigan tight end who fills a position of need for a sometimes fledgling Chargers offense.

23. Packers: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas

The Packers have about 3 or 4 WR2s but could really use a WR1. Hopefully Golden fills that need.

24. Vikings: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

24. Vikings: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

Barron is an interesting prospect who might need to play slot corner in the NFL but that is becoming a highly valued position that could warrant first round selections.

25. Texans: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

CJ Stroud is reunited with his Ohio State receiver. Stefon Diggs was supposed to be that WR1 for the Texans last year but it didn't pan out due to injury and his general decline before that.

26. Rams: Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky

The Rams need a real CB1 for the long haul.

27. Ravens: James Pearce Jr., DE/OLB, Tennessee

Yet again, another great prospect falls to a good organization. The Ravens seem to do this every year. Pearce has "character concerns" but Baltimore has a good culture that they're willing to bank on straightening him out.

28. Lions: Tyler Booker, G, Alabama

Say it with me. Great prospect, good organization. The Lions continue to build through the trenches.

29. Commanders: Shemar Stewart, DE, Texas A&M

Washington takes Shemar Stewart, literally the most athletic defensive end prospect in the last 40 years but who couldn't put it all together on the field.

30. Bills: Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss

The Bills' biggest hole is at cornerback which is partially why the Chiefs were able to pick them apart in the AFC Championship game. Amos is a good fit for the Bills' scheme.

31. Chiefs: Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State

The Chiefs obviously need to address their o-line after getting embarrassed in the Super Bowl to an Eagles team that didn't blitz once the entire game but managed to sack Mahomes six times. Simmons would likely be the top tackle prospect if not for a torn patellar injury that ended his 2024 season.

32. Eagles: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss

Speaking of the Eagles, they lost many of those players on that dominant defensive line that gave Mahomes a beatdown, including Josh Sweat and Milton Williams. Walter Nolen was once the number one recruit in the country and Nolen can provide a pass rush that Jordan Davis does not seem able to.
