Round 1

Picks 17-32
17. Bengals: Shemar Stewart, DE, Texas A&M

This drafts most polarizing player. A freakish lab built prototype athlete with awful numbers and only ordinary tape Stewart will be all over from
board to board but if the Bengals can unlock the potential this could be a steal

18. Seahawks: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas

The Seahawks retooled at WR after trading DK Metcalf but adding Golden will really round out their WR room. Golden is a great competitor who runs smooth routes, catches everything and his 4.29 speed illustrates his big play potential

19. Buccaneers: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

The Bucs have plenty of needs on defense and Starks fills several of them as a safety capable of playing deep middle, in the box or as a big slot corner. He helps this defense a lot

20. Broncos: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina

Sean Payton needs a true lead back to take this improving offense to the next level. Hampton is a massive, physical back with rare speed for a man his size. His production matches his physicals, a fine prospect

21. Steelers: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

The million dollar question is answered. With the ongoing Aaron Rodgers saga the Steelers can’t afford to wait any longer and are delighted here to see Sanders available. He is polar opposite in many ways to long time starter Ben Roethlisberger but his incredible accuracy gives him a chance to make it

22. Chargers: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon

The Chargers lost Poona Ford to the Rams in free agency but find a solid replacement here. Harmon is a powerful and relentless interior disruptor who can affect the passing and running game

23. Packers: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

The Jim Thorpe award winner for the nation’s best corner, Barron is a highly effective, highly versatile defensive back capable of playing in the slot, out wide or even as a free safety. He is the sort of DB any defensive coordinator would welcome

24. Vikings: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss

The Vikings will be looking to find new talent in the trenches in this draft and here Walter Nolen is the best such player available. A highly talented player who is excellent against the run and he offers some pass rush he should be a nice addition to a solid Vikings defense

25. Texans: Tyler Booker, G, Alabama

The Texans need upgrades aplenty on their offensive line in this draft. Adding the mauling Booker will immediately improve their outlook as a day one above average starter with a very high floor.

26. Rams: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama

The Rams have 2 years to win another Superbowl with Matthew Stafford and have assembled a roster well capable of competing again. Linebacker is one of very few holes so getting a premium talent like Campbell who could slide because of a shoulder problem would be huge for them

27. Ravens: Mike Green, DE, Marshall

Green could be a top 10 player so this is incredible value for the Ravens who always seem to find themselves such a steal. Green reigned terror for the Thundering Herd in the sun belt and even gave Ohio State a lot of problems showing he isn’t just a small school standout

28. Lions: Grey Zabel, OT, North Dakota State

The Lions could look for someone to play opposite Aidan Hutchinson here but they also need help on their interior o line and Zabel looks sure to be a day one starter which isn’t that easy to find when you’re picking at 28

29. Commanders: Donovan Ezeiruaka, OLB, Boston College

The Commanders could look at more help for Jayden Daniels but head coach Dan Quinn loves to have as many pass rushers as possible for his pressure heavy scheme and Ezeiruaka is the sort of bendy speed rusher who thrives in his scheme

30. Bills: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

The Bills achilles heel remains their run defense. Adding the man mountain Kenneth Grant would change that. He is almost impossible to block one on one on inside runs and he has surprising pass rushing ability for a man of his size

31. Chiefs: Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State

This would be a godsend for Patrick Mahomes who’s two superbowl losses were caused by poor offensive tackle play. Simmons is recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon but when healthy he was as good as any tackle in the nation

32. Eagles: Nic Scourton, DE, Texas A&M

The Eagles manage to find a late first round steal every year and it’s usually a defensive lineman. Step forward Nic Scourton who was the best pass rusher for the Aggies last year. His power and pass rush arsenal adds to the incredible riches this defense already possesses
