Final version for the 2026 draft this week. Let's go!

Round 1

Picks 1-16 Picks 17-32
17.
Kadyn Proctor , OT , Alabama
Detroit goes offensive tackle here after cutting Taylor Decker. I figure that Freeling’s personality matches Dan Campbell’s more than Kadyn Proctor, but Proctor has a higher ceiling. He is extremely athletic for his size.

The Lions also need to take pressure off Aidan Hutchinson to unlock his utility - we could see a defensive line selection here too.
18.
Jermod McCoy , CB , Tennessee
This is a great value for Minnesota here at pick #18. The 1B corner of this draft. In a different year, we probably would have seen McCoy go earlier. Dillon Thieneman would be my second choice here.

I think the closest word I could describe the Vikings as is mismanaged. Nothing they do now will really help them in the short-term. Free JJ.
19.
Dillon Thieneman , S , Oregon
We could see the Panthers grab another receiver or TE to try to prove that Bryce Young was worth their investment. Xavier Legette is probably a mediocre WR and Jalen Coker is often hurt.

But, the best safety in the draft is waiting here at pick #19 for them. Interior defensive line or offensive line is another choice at pick #19. Someone like Peter Woods could slot in with Derrick Brown.
20.
Keldric Faulk , DE , Auburn
Jerry Jones could opt for a defensive lineman here, or will want to protect Dak Prescott. Dallas is always at its best when its offensive line is elite. Their tackles were mediocre at best last season.

Keldrick Faulk is a player who was mocked higher than this last year. Dallas traded for Rashan Gary this offseason, but could still improve their pass rush. Their defense was really ass last year after having about a 5-year stretch of dominance.
21.
Monroe Freeling , OT , Georgia
Did you know that the draft is in Pittsburgh this year? This franchise has bad ownership and front office management. Tomlin maybe needed a change of scenery, but the real issues lie above him.

They have had no real answer at QB for quite some time and have wasted a great defense. The offense seemed to revolve around three TEs last season.

Michael Pittman Jr. was added from the Colts, but he hasn’t exactly overperformed lately. They could go with a receiver, but instead go with a tackle. Broderick Jones will have to move over. Freeling is a top pass protector in this class. Vegas likes Monroe Freeling more than mock drafters.
22.
Peter Woods , DT , Clemson
There are no interior offensive linemen who are worth taking at pick #22. This area of the draft seems weak this year. The Chargers get some juice on their defensive front with the best defensive tackle in this draft.
23.
Denzel Boston , WR , Washington
AJ Brown is seemingly headed to the Pats. They may get someone like Kayshon Boutte in return, but getting a big receiver to replace Brown is a simpler bet. Watch out for Dillon Thieneman if he’s still on the board here at pick #23.

Philadelphia could go offensive or defensive line here. With Lane Johnson returning next season, they can wait to draft another OT. They have invested more defensively in recent drafts.
24.
Caleb Lomu , OT , Utah
The Browns need a tackle just to see which QB they can develop. I doubt that any passer on the roster at the moment is the guy. They’ll hope to draft a QB next year.

The Travis Hunter trade yields dividends here. Caleb Lomu was the left tackle at Utah, while Spencer Fano played right tackle.
25.
Cashius Howell , DE , Texas A&M
There is a gaping hole at defensive end on the Bears roster. They need to generate pressure to let the offense see the field more often.

Cashius Howell is a speed-type end who had 11.5 sacks his senior season at Texas A&M.
26.
Zion Young , DE , Missouri
Buffalo could do many things here at pick #26. They do need offensive line and secondary help. They could also develop a receiver under DJ Moore and as insurance to Khalil Shakir.

Their defense is a bigger question mark. Players have either been aging out or too young to contribute consistently. Zion Young has similar traits to Greg Rousseau. Imagine two 6’6” ends coming at you.
27.
Kayden McDonald , DT , Ohio State
San Francisco probably still needs a receiver. They also need a defensive tackle. Caleb Banks has a foot injury and could slide out of the first round. Kayden McDonald is probably the best interior run defender in the draft.
28.
C.J. Allen , LB , Georgia
The Texans could probably go .500 with their defense alone. After trading Laremy Tunsil and making other offensive line moves, CJ Stroud looked spooked. OL is a must for Houston early in this year’s draft, but the value is not here.

CJ Allen could be a long-time franchise defensive playcaller. A guy who leads his team in tackles almost every year. He realistically could go higher than this, but Jihaad Campbell fell last year. Former linebacker DeMeco Ryans gets himself one to mold.
29.
Avieon Terrell , CB , Clemson
Protecting Mahomes is a greater priority this year after tearing his ACL, but there are no tackles worthy of pick #29. We could see the Chiefs draft a corner here instead to replace Trent McDuffie.
30.
K.C. Concepcion , WR , Texas A&M
Denver sent their pick to the Dolphins for Jaylen Waddle. Miami now has the worst receiver room in the league. Malik Willis might as well be wearing an explosive vest on the field this year. Concepcion is a shifty receiver and will fit an immediate need as a starter here.
31.
Max Iheanachor , OT , Arizona State
New England has met with Iheanachor prior to the draft. After seeing how the Pats fared in the playoffs, they needed another tackle. Morgan Moses will be 36 next season.

The Patriots need to increase defensive pressure on the QB to get themselves over the edge. Generating pressure will also allow their elite secondary to flourish and keep the opposing offenses off the field. Zion Young could be the pick if he’s still on the board.
32.
Chris Johnson , CB , San Diego State
I get the sense that Seattle will trade out unless there is great value at pick #32. Jadarian Price will not go in the first round. A receiver would be a sneaky good move for them as Cooper Kupp is likely donezo.

But, let's say they stay and select a corner since Tariq Woolen left for Philly. There is really a mixed bag left - Colton Hood, Brandon Cisse, or Chris Johnson. Johnson played the most zone out of the bunch, which is Mike Macdonald’s preferred system.
