Cleveland has money to spend and are desperate so why not rebuild from the foundations (offensive line & defense) up? Following this plan, Cleveland would have one of the best offensive lines in football. Signing Tony Jefferson and Amukamara would be a step in the right direction in terms of the secondary and drafting arguably the best cornerback in the draft can't hurt, which would also allow Hayden rest and prolong his season. Garrett and McDowell could be a force to be reckoned with and Kamara is an underrated breakaway back. With a little help, who knows what Cody Kessler can do?
Since I've taken heat over the Danny Shelton trade I'll clarify my thoughts here. Yes many of you are correct in that you can have a NT in a 4-3 hybrid scheme (like the Oakland Raiders for example). The base front would be an over or under and a nose tackle could be used in a shade or head up technique. In this situation the NT's job is to take on the double team freeing up the linebacker to make plays and also to stop the run. He needs to be strong and immovable (large) which is totally Danny Shelton.
In the end, I don't think Shelton is quick enough and would have to spend a year losing weight, ) and learning a new technique. I just think that by trading him to a 3-4 team where he can be in a zero technique or a 4-3 team with a shade would be more beneficial to all.
As for Shon Coleman, I thought he was overdrafted last year due to the fact that there were very few NFL caliber tackles in last year's draft. And again depending on who you listen to, Reiff improved greatly towards the end of last year after the switch to right tackle.
