Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

The Titans are prepared to move on from Will Levis and are zeroed in on Cam Ward.

Ward very likely is going to be the #1 overall pick in the draft but this isn't the same class as last year. He is 18th on my big board. This team needs a complete rebuild and would be better off giving Levis more time and a better roster to see if he can grow in year 2 in the system. However, QBs drive this league and the only one worth a Top 10 pick is Ward.

2. Browns: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

Recent speculation is that Stefanski is on the hot seat and must win now to save his job. The Browns can't have another anemic year on offense with a former OC as the HC. I think this is a heavy offensive draft for Cleveland, who take Hunter as a primary WR and rotational DB. Look for a QB at the top of round 2 or a trade up into the back half of round 1 (Dart or Shough). Their RB will be in round 3.

Pairing Hunter with Jeudy gives the Browns a good WR core for a rookie QB or Pickett/Flacco this season. You want to save your job, you take Hunter and if you miss, then everyone missed.

3. Giants: Abdul Carter, OLB, Penn State

The Giants signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, which takes them out of the "developmental" QB area at #3 overall. Yes, Jameis is on a backup deal and Russell is a one year deal but that still creates a sit and wait for a #3 overall pick that will not help this year. Do you really want Shedeur mentored by those two anyway? Brian Daboll is fighting for his job this season and they can't afford to suck or he will never be around to see the growth.

Despite having Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux as their 2 EDGE rushers, there is the chance they take Carter to create one of the more potent pass rushes in the league. He is rumored to be #1 on their board. The Giants saw firsthand what a team with multiple rushers can do (Eagles) and were built defensively on this mantra. They could also look to shop Thibodeaux as they look for a move back into round 1 for a QB or stay pat at 34 for one.

4. Patriots: Will Campbell, OT, LSU

The Patriots want to get better in the trenches according to Mike Vrabel and that includes drafting a franchise left tackle at 4. I imagine the Pats would take Carter or Hunter, if they fell, but Campbell is a great consolation prize.

Campbell and Membou are both in the running to be the first OT off the board but Campbell has been a 3 year starter on the left side at LSU and that is the pressing need in NE. His heavy hands will get him in trouble at times as he does lunge a little for my liking but the tools are there to protect Drake Maye's blindside for the next decade.

5. Jaguars: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

The Top 4 picks are rumored to be locked. That means the draft really starts here.

I do not believe the Jags take Jeanty. I think the whole thing is a smokescreen to get the Bears or Raiders to move up to take him while grabbing extra picks for their true target, Tetairoa McMillan. If no one is willing to pay the price, the Jags will just take McMillan here.

I had McMillan here in March but moved him to 12 with the assumption of Mason Graham or Armand Membou. That is no more and McMillan is picking up steam again for the Jags at 5. New HC Liam Coen would look to recreate the Evans/Godwin combo that he had in Tampa with McMillan (Evans) and Thomas (Godwin). Coen has been adamant about maximizing Lawrence and brought in 3 offensive lineman during free agency for protection but now must give him the weapons outside. McMillan gives Jacksonville the big body red zone target they sorely need.

6. Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

The Raiders need offense. Brock Bowers was a one man wrecking crew last year but the rest of the team was flat.

The Raiders traded for Geno Smith but need an upgraded running game from their putrid 3.6 YPC last year. Pete Carroll wants to run the ball (Marshawn Lynch) and having a cornerstone at RB will allow the Raiders to pursue WR's in round 2 where I have Egbuka, Higgins, and Burden still available in this mock. Jeanty, who the Raiders have been all over, would flourish in Las Vegas and keep the pressure off Smith to give the Raiders a shot to make some noise.

7. Jets: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

What a mess.

Woody Johnson already declared Justin Fields the starter but he is essentially on a 1 year deal. The Jets need to support their QB and demonstrated that they will, even if it doesn't work out (Aaron Rodgers).

Warren is a match-up nightmare. His versatility translates well for NY, who will utilize Fields' strengths running the football and give him immediate check downs for pressures. The Jets could then pursue a starting RT in the 2nd round. The Jets have been all over Warren in the process from Combine, Pro Day, and 2 visits over the last 2 weeks. The Jets need juice and Warren brings more of that at this point.

8. Panthers: Jalon Walker, OLB, Georgia

The most popular mock for a reason.

Carolina was awful getting after the QB last year and Walker's versatility should appetizing for the Panthers. He is able to play outside LB in a 4-3 and rush the edge in pass rushing situations. He would be a day 1 starter in Carolina. He could remind many of Thomas Davis.

9. Saints: Mykel Williams, DE, Georgia

This is a complete rebuild. Years of restructuring has caught up with the Saints and now they are left with a depleted roster and won't get much cap relief until 2027. On top of that their RT Ryan Ramczyk just retired due to injury. They need the best player available to start the rebuild.

CB Will Johnson makes a lot of sense but that knee injury and a lost 2024 is reportedly scaring teams. The team has been all over Mykel Williams throughout this process and think he has gravitated toward being the pick at 9. I don't understand it as they have already paid Granderson, Young, and Cam Jordan, who will see more interior snaps this year as he continues to fight off father time.

Shedeur Sanders has become a popular mock here due to Derek Carr being questionable in 2025 due to a shoulder injury but this still is a reach for a 2nd round prospect and a team in the middle of a major rebuild. The Saints are rumored to prefer Jaxson Dart over Sanders anyway. Kellen Moore may want to see what Spencer Rattler, Dart (via trade up at the end of round 1) or a 2nd round pick (Rumored to like Ewers too) can do this year since the Saints are tied to Derek Carr until 2027. His cap number in 26' is $69.2 million, and the Saints would incur $59.7 million in dead money, if they cut him, due to his restructure to get them under the cap this year. He isn't going anywhere until then and that limits the allure of a Kirk Cousins or Aaron Rodgers.

10. Bears: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri

The Bears have overhauled their offensive line this offseason with the additions of Dalman, Jackson, and Thuney. With Darnell Wright already a solid player, the Bears can look at their last OL spot and upgrade LT Braxton Jones.

Membou primarily played RT at Mizzou but would go to the blindside in Chicago. With the offensive line completely retooled, there would no excuse for Caleb Williams to not be successful in 2025.

If Jeanty is here, I do think he will be the pick. Ben Johnson would love to create that thunder and lighting combo again in Chicago and could with Jeanty and Swift but with Jeanty off the board, look for a Judkins pick in round 2.

11. 49ers: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

The 49ers are clearing their cap space for Brock Purdy. Don't agree with it but it's being done. They have a clear need at CB, G, and DT after losing Charvarius Ward to Indy and Hargrave/Collins to Minnesota/Cleveland.

The 49ers have done extensive research on OT's this year and are rumored to like Kelvin Banks Jr. but they can't pass up a premier player at a primary position of need. Mason Graham is the prototypical 3 tech. His has a non-stop motor and is ranked in the Top 5 for many big boards in this draft. He offers a ton of value at 11 and also fills the 49ers most pressing need since Jordan Elliott and Evan Anderson are currently their projected starters. Some other reporters are also saying San Fran is looking at DL in round 1.

San Fran would then look into round 2 for OL/CB depth.

12. Cowboys: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas

The Cowboys continue to be in purgatory. Too talented to pick high and too "Cowboy-y" to make a serious run.

The Cowboys made the huge investment in Prescott and have to give him better weapons. Lamb is the X WR and a more explosive Z is needed after Mingo struggled to make an impact after his trade. It doesn't get much more explosive than Matthew Golden, who flourished this past season at Texas and immediately fills that role day 1. Lamb, Golden, Tolbert, Mingo, and Turpin will take care of the WR core for the Cowboys to address needs later in the draft.

Look for the Cowboys to address RB in round 2 with either Judkins or another back. However, Skattebo in the 3rd round would be fun in Dallas.

13. Dolphins: Kelvin Banks, OT/G, Texas

The Dolphins are useless as long as Tua continues to get hurt and Banks, I believe, would be the best pick here. He could start at LT over Patrick Paul or either Guard spot. Tua has to be the priority this season because we saw how atrocious this offense was without him.

The Dolphins would then have multiple picks in the middle rounds to address their Secondary, which is also a complete mess in the wake of the Jalen Ramsey trade rumors.

14. Colts: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

Watch me get this wrong.

I imagine the Colts 1st round draft board looks like this:

1. Tyler Warren
2. Colston Loveland
3. Tyler Booker

With Warren gone, the decision is between Loveland and Booker. I'd personally go with Booker since Arroyo and Taylor could both be available in round 2. After Booker and Donovan Jackson, there is a drop off until the next guard tier.

Loveland is a prospect I am not as high on as others. While he posses strong traits such as his 2nd level blocking and athleticism, he makes too many errors on the field. His inline primary blocking needs work and he drops too many balls for my personal liking. However, NFL teams and the media have him and Warren above the 2nd tier and he is almost guaranteed to be drafted in the Top 25 Thursday night.

15. Falcons: Mike Green, DE, Marshall

Based in Atlanta, so I've had 6 months of draft talk down here.

Should the board shake out this way. The Falcons would have to decide between Grant, Nolan, CB, and EDGE at this pick.

Grant and Nolan make a ton of sense but the Falcons invested a 2nd rounder in Ruke Orhorhoro last year and may want to give him another chance. I don't agree with that as he looked awful last year.

CB makes a ton of sense opposite AJ Terrell but the Falcons just resigned Mike Hughes and like Clark Phillips in the Nickel. I do think they take a corner but not this early.

The Falcons have struggled for over a decade with getting pressure on the QB and the current lineup of EDGE rushers (Floyd, Ebiketie, Harrison, Trice, and Malone) are lackluster at best. The Falcons would love Mykel Williams to be available here but he isn't. The next 2 options would be Mike Green and James Pearce Jr. . Both are explosive off the edge with Mike Green leading the FBS in sacks last year. The difference is run support. Green is much further along than Pearce in this area and the Falcons need day 1 impact players or the entire staff/front office will be looking for work with another season of missing the playoffs.

16. Cardinals: Shemar Stewart, DE, Texas A&M

The Cardinals need to take an impact player here with needs at WR, CB, and DL.

CB is a need and Barron is available. I think there will be a strong run at 23-50 of CBs and the Cardinals could take one in round 2 since they are liking the development of Melton and Williams despite every mock draft assigning CB here.

Stewart is a love/hate prospect. All the tools in the world but his finishing production is a cause for concern especially with a stacked DL at Texas A&M. Stewart's scheme versatility, size and length make him an ideal fit for Jonathan Gannon's defense. He could be a stand-up rusher to add to the Sweat/Collins/Browning rotation or a stronger end for their 4-2-5. Gannon worked with guys like him in Philadelphia and made it work. Gannon may view Stewart's tools as too good to pass up.
