Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

The Titans are prepared to move on from Will Levis and are zeroed in on Cam Ward, unless a mammoth offer comes in, Ward should be the #1 overall pick in the draft.

2. Browns: Abdul Carter, OLB, Penn State

The Browns are not 1 player away. With Miles Garrett back in the fold, the Browns can draft the best defensive player in the draft to create more 1 v 1 opportunities for their studs.

The Browns seem to be content to roll with Kenny Pickett this year unless Kirk Cousins is cut (trading makes no sense with that Deshaun Watson contract). Either way, it is going to be another anemic offensive year for the Browns, who most likely are zeroed in on Arch Manning next year, when they can get out of the Watson contract.

3. Giants: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

The Giants signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, which takes them out of the "developmental" QB area. Yes, Jameis is on a backup deal and Russell is a one year deal but that still creates a sit and wait for a #3 overall pick that will not help this year. Do you really want Shedeur mentored by those two anyway? Brian Daboll is fighting for his job this season and they can't afford to suck or he will never be around to see the growth.

With Hunter, they kill three birds with one stone. They get an elite CB, a dangerous punt/kickoff returner, and a WR that can play with Nabers, Robinson, and Slayton. The signing of Adebo will allow flexibility for Hunter to contribute in all 3 phases of the game.

You want to save your job, you take Hunter and if you miss, then everyone missed.

4. Patriots: Will Campbell, OT, LSU

The Patriots want to get better in the trenches according to Mike Vrabel and that includes drafting a franchise left tackle at 4. I imagine the Pats would take Carter and Hunter, if they fell, but Campbell is a great consolation prize.

His heavy hands will get him in trouble at times but the tools are there to protect Drake Maye's blindside for the next decade.

5. Jaguars: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

The Jags can't afford to keep wasting Trevor Lawrence. The defense wasn't the issue last year and outside of Brian Thomas, there are no threats to open up the field.

McMillan is the prototypical X WR with Thomas being the explosive Z. Lawrence will have two studs on the outside to maximize his potential and maybe win some more games in 2025.

6. Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

The Raiders need offense. Brock Bowers was a one man wrecking crew last year but the rest of the team was flat. The Raiders take a page from the Cowboys and Falcons and take Jeanty, if McMillan is off the board.

The Raiders traded for Geno Smith and would love to take McMillan but with him off the board, Jeanty can take control of the offense. Pete Carroll wants to run the ball (Marshawn Lynch) and having a cornerstone at RB will allow the Raiders to pursue WR's in round 2 where I have Embuka and Golden still available in this mock.

Jeanty would flourish in Las Vegas and keep the pressure off Smith to give the Raiders a shot to make some noise.

7. Jets: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

What a mess.

If Fields is going to be QB1 (Woody Johnson already make that declaration) then a safety valve is needed. Warren is a legit Top 15 pick and is very rich at 7 but that offense will have a shot with him, Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, and Justin Fields in the fold.

The Jets have no strong TE on the roster and Warren allows them to be more multiple moving forward to open up the passing and running game with Justin Fields.

OT is a popular mock but the Jets just drafted one last year and need to get some momentum in the wake of the Aaron Rodgers failed experiment.

8. Panthers: Jalon Walker, OLB, Georgia

The most popular mock for a reason.

Carolina was awful getting after the QB last year and Walker's versatility should appetizing for the Panthers. He is the 2nd ranked EDGE behind Carter for a reason and would be a day 1 starter in Carolina

9. Saints: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Let's be honest.

Sanders isn't a top 10 pick on talent. I have him graded as a Round 2 QB but QB's are always over drafted for the 5th year option and the fact you need one to win the Super Bowl.

Sanders is accurate and has decent arm strength. However, his progressions and pocket presence will need to be developed. All possible but he will need time. He also takes an absurd amount of sacks (52) last year. This leads me to more David Carr territory. Ironic since his brother Derek is the incumbent.

Sanders will be able to compete year 1 with Carr and take over next year for a team in the middle of a complete rebuild. Years of restructures has caught up with the Saints and new HC Kellen Moore needs to make his mark with a franchise QB, if he will ever be successful in New Orleans.

If Sanders doesn't go here, it is really hard to see him going anytime soon without a trade up, since the Steelers (21) are the only team left without a QB, with wildcards from the Rams and maybe Seattle. He could have an Aaron Rodgers type slide on draft day.

10. Bears: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri

The Bears have overhauled their offensive line this offseason with the additions of Dalman, Jackson, and Thuney. With Darnell Wright already a solid player, the Bears can look at their last OL spot and upgrade Braxton Jones.

Membou is in running to be the first OT off the board and looks like a solid pick. He could go as high as 4 to the Patriots. The Bears would now have a overhaul at the OL position, which is exactly what happened in Detroit when Campbell took the job and where new HC Ben Johnson experienced alot of success.

If Jeanty is here, I do think he will be the pick. Ben Johnson would love to create that thunder and lighting combo again in Chicago and could with Jeanty and Swift but with Jeanty off the board, look for a Judkins pick in round 2.

11. 49ers: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Best Player Available.

The 49ers are clearing their cap space for Brock Purdy. Don't agree with it but it's being done. They have a clear need at CB after losing Charvarius Ward to Indy.

Johnson is a fantastic prospect worthy of a Top 10 pick. Injuries hurt him last year but he can be a #1 CB in this league. The 49ers just need young talent to compete with Purdy's impending huge contract. Getting Johnson at 11 has to be considered a win.

12. Cowboys: Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri

The Cowboys continue to be in purgatory. Too talented to pick high and too "Cowboy-y" to make a serious run.

The Cowboys made the huge investment in Prescott and have to give him better weapons. Lamb is the X WR and a more explosive Z is needed after Mingo struggled to make an impact after his trade. Lamb, Burden, Tolbert, Mingo, and Turpin. Take care of the WR core for the Cowboys to address needs later in the draft.

Enter Luther Burden II who would be a dream fit in that offense. Burden has fallen out of favor with "mock drafts" but is no doubt a top 20 talent in this class.

Look for the Cowboys to address RB in round 2 with either Judkins or Henderson. However, Skattebo would be fun in Dallas.

13. Dolphins: Kelvin Banks, OT/G, Texas

The Dolphins are useless as long as Tua continues to get hurt.

Armstead and the Dolphins may not agree on an extension after this year, so LT would be an obvious need. Banks can fill the gaping holes at guard and transition back if Armstead is not retained. If he is, then its still a win because you upgraded your interior. Either way Banks has all the tools of a solid starter in either position and Miami must keep Tua upright or McDaniel will be looking for work in 26'.

14. Colts: Tyler Booker, G, Alabama

Watch me get this wrong.

I imagine the Colts 1st round draft board looks like this:

1. Tyler Warren
2. Tyler Booker
3. Colston Loveland

With Warren gone, the decision is between Loveland and Booker. I am just not sold on Loveland in the first round. He drops too many balls and isn't elite inline blocking. I have a mid-2 grade on him.

The Colts already have 3 solid WRs and can design concepts to deal with the lack of TE. They can't survive with Jones or Richardson without a RG. Booker is a mauler and is being knocked due to bad testing. Orlando Brown has done alright despite his abysmal performance. His film is great and would be an immediate starter to help either QB and Jonathan Taylor.

15. Falcons: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

I never thought of having Mason Graham fall this far and he might not but I didn't see a fit between Jacksonville at #5 and any other team (except San Fran) until now. San Francisco took Johnson over Graham at 11 and Atlanta won't complain.

Graham won't have eye popping stats but does move the pocket and is a better Braden Fiske. He will be a huge difference maker for the edge rushers (Floyd, Ebiketie, Harrison, Trice, and Malone) to have better pash rush in Atlanta that is sorely needed for over a decade. He is worthy of a top 10 pick and would push 2nd round pick Ruke Orhorhoro, who looked awful last year.

16. Cardinals: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

The Cardinals need a WR, CB, and DT this year. I debated between Morrison, Thomas, and Grant here but ultimately think Grant will win out.

From the outside looking in, the Cardinals need at DT isn't much. Darius Robinson was a 1st round pick and Jonesis in the middle of a big contract and Dalvin Tomlinson was brought in to help that area but Bilal Nichols didn't help too much last year (dead cap hit of 2 million next year). Jonathan Gannon helped build the Eagles and knows having a strong DL rotation brings success. Grant would overtake Nichols and create a strong rotation for recently signed Josh Sweat to replicate his Super Bowl performance consistently, which will be needed in a division with the Rams and 49ers.

Taking Morrison, Thomas, or Golden would be a reach at 16, where Grant has cemented himself as the best nose in this class. Taking a CB or WR in round 2 would be better value and improve the team.
