Round 1

Picks 17-32
17. Jaguars: Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama

While they need a stud WR, there may be a couple left in the 2nd.

18. Bengals: J.C. Latham, OT, Alabama

They have to protect Burrow.

19. Rams: Cooper DeJean, S/CB, Iowa

The Rams cannot resist drafting someone named "Cooper." They also need a big CB/Safety in their division.

20. Steelers: Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson

Wiggins doesn't seem like the Steeler's type, but they need a CB and he's probably the best available.

21. Dolphins: Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon

The Dolphins draft the guy with 3 last names.

They must add at least 2 O-linemen, 1 DL, and 1 DE to their roster. In the best world, they successfully trade down this pick and get an extra 2nd or early 3rd round pick.

Old school, if a first round Center is on the board at this point, I always choose them over a first round Tackle. Highly rated Centers always have higher floors, and with offenses these days, being able to snap a football and block is no easy set of tasks.

22. Eagles: Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma

I think that the Eagles have pretty well telegraphed Guyton here, and it's time for them to start planning for the future on the O-line. Other positions of need can be filled later with good picks.

23. Texans: Jer'Zhan Newton, DT, Illinois

From what I've read, some say Newton takes plays off, others say he's overly critical of teammates who take plays off.

Regardless, he's the last 1st Round talent at DT available.

24. Cowboys: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia

I don't like Mims in that he's barely played. However, Dallas is the organization who take raw linemen and seem to make pros out of them.

25. Packers: Troy Fautanu, G/OT, Washington

Packers need linemen, sort of. They seem to be slightly better than average everywhere.

26. Buccaneers: Chop Robinson, OLB/DE, Penn State

Robinson's lack of production scares me. Does he have a problem tackling. He might be a Vic Beasley type.

27. Cardinals: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama

Good timing that Arizona has so many high picks because they need better players most everywhere.

Best player available at a position of need.

28. Bills: Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU

Tall QBs and cold environments require big receivers.

Thomas is on my list as the most likely to bust, but at this point, he's by far the best WR available.

29. Lions: Ennis Rakestraw Jr., CB, Missouri

Rakestraw has been falling down most boards, but he seems like him might be a good, feisty fit for the Lions.

30. Ravens: Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

It's sad to watch the Ravens continuously roll out sub-par support for Lamar Jackson year-after-year. Yes, Flowers was a move in the right direction, but he really goofed in the playoffs and they need a bigger WR to pair with him.

31. 49ers: Graham Barton, G/OT, Duke

The 49ers are great in most positions, but the line has 3 holes to plug, they need a DE and a couple of CBs who can actually tackle. Trading down would be the best move. Without a trade, they draft Barton about 10 picks too soon. But he's competent, has a high floor low ceiling, and is versatile. The 49ers also had good luck with a guy named Barton years past (apparently no relation).

32. Chiefs: Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State

Coleman's 4.62 have fans and draft prognosticators panicking, but his GPS times were nearly the best at the combine and I will assume that the Chiefs have won 3 out of 5 Super Bowls because they are smarter than everyone else.

He's a big receiver, he's played in both cold and hot weather (perfect for KC), and the Chiefs WRs last year were not good as a group.

Let's face it, KC is the new New England, and Coleman will be their Jerrod Mayo pick when Mayo was drafted; a pick panned by many, but people shrugged their shoulders and figured the Patriots had a plan. They did.
