So there are only 5 weeks to go and unlike the mostly decided NFC the AFC has much to be determined in the final weeks of the season, so here is an evaluation.

Buffalo Bills (8-3) 1st wildcard

Buffalo has surprised many with their 8-3 start to the year and it is looking increasingly likely that it will payoff with a playoff berth in 2019, however Buffalo does have a hard schedule to finish the year and it is possible they finish 1-4 to end out the year, thursdays game against Dallas will say a lot about where this team is at.

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5) second wildcard

Pittsburgh has somehow been able to defy reality in the NFL this year with being able to contend without Roethlisberger, Brown, and Bell on their team this year, however a poor showing against Cincy and resorting to a third string qb with 5 weeks to go point to the fact that their cinderella run to the playoffs may be comming to an end, look for this spot to change.

Oakland Raiders (6-5) 7th place in AFC

Oakland has been another surprising team this year, but a very bad showing against the 3-7 Jets shows that this team isnt really ready to take it to the next level yet, look for this team to either contend for their division or fall out of it all together.

Indianapolis Colts (6-5) 8th place in AFC

The Colts looked like a very solid team early on, but there are cracks in the foundation, and this team ran a very vanilla offense against a very bad Houston defense last week, look for this team to either put up or shut up this week against the Titans.

Tennessee Titans (6-5) 9th place in AFC

The Titans have looked like a solid team these last few weeks but there isnt much excitment with this team with a mediocre qb and winning with a strong running game, they definitely have probably the hardest schedule to come of those in contention.

Cleveland Browns (5-6) 10th place in AFC

The Browns have been able to keep their season alive with 3 straight wins.  They definitely have the talent capable of a major turnaround.  Sundays game against Pittsburgh is obviously make or brake.  With the easiest remaining schedule of the teams listed, and owning the tiebreakers agains nearly every team listed accept Tennessee, the Browns do have a real shot at the playoffs if they keep winning the games their supposed to win.
