Where will the QB’s of 2019 end up in 2020?

The NFL season is all but over now so its time to take a look at where some of the qbs in question will end up for next year.  This is one of those rare periods that there is an oversupply of starting qbs on the market due to the fact that the qbs from 2000-2004 have not retired or refuse to and are playing longer than qbs of before.  Let’s take a look at each one and see where they end up….

In order of significance 2019 team in parentheses

  1. Tom Brady (Patriots)  2020 Team: Tennessee Titans

I Initially thought Brady would retire (he should) but it seems based on what he says is that he wants to come back for more.  His stats are on the decline and I can only see him going to a limited amount of teams, he will only have a chance if he goes to a team that can semi carry him like the Titans can with Henry and their defense.  There about the only team that can say they are a year away from a potential title that may wants to switch qb’s.  I don’t see a return to New England, Brady and them are ready to move on…

2. Drew Brees (Saints) 2020 Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Saints may be ready to move on from Drew Bree’s otherwise they would have given him a contract already, if they were sure they wanted him back.  They still won games with Bridgewater playing and they could sign him or give Taysom Hill a shot as they seem to really like him.  Tampa coach Bruce Arians gave about the worst endorsement of a qb a coach could give of Jameis Winston at the end of the year, if they think they can win quickly with Brees they may take a shot on him.

3. Ryan Tanehill (Titans) 2020 Team: Bears

The Bears cant continue to waste the talents and investment they made on their defense on Mitch Trubisky, they may stick with him due to the investment they made in him, but if they do switch, they make take a chance on the recent success of Tanehills game managing ability which can get the Bears to the playoffs given their defense

4.Teddy Bridgewater (Saints) 2020 Team: Saints

It’s tempting to believe that the saints will try to make Taysom Hill the qb, but given how they’ve tried hard to keep Bridgewater in New Orleans and the fact he won every game he started this year makes it too hard to let him go.

5.Phillip Rivers (Chargers) 2020 Team: Retired

Rivers is retiring, he move out of California recently, and there isn’t a team out there that’s going to take a chance on him as their starter given his stats are in free fall and his age, theres just too many other options out there for starting qbs

6.Eli Manning (Giants) 2020 Team: Retired

Eli Manning has said that he wants to keep playing but not as a backup, well I guess hes retiring then. He got benched on one of the worst teams in football and like Phillip Rivers there just isn’t a team that makes sense for him to start for.

7.Andy Dalton (Bengals) 2020 Team: Chargers

Dalton likely will continue to be a starter for now, but like 2019 he will probably just be a stopgap qb to get a team the #1 pick like he did in Cincy in 2019.

8.Mitch Trubisky (Bears) 2020 Team: Bears Backup

The #2 pick just hasn’t done enough to keep his job, now he becomes a journeyman…
