Why these Browns are different.

Some people may wonder if the Browns are for real this year, or if they are a fake kind of good or maybe a one year wonder, this article explains why that’s not the case and why the Browns are poised for a run of success for years to come…

1. Real players with sustainable talent…

This isn’t like 2007 or even 2014 where the Browns had some success with journeyman qbs (Derek Anderson and Brian Hoyer), Baker Mayfield, while he may have his doubters is by far the best qb the Browns have had since Bernie Kosar nearly 30 years ago.  No Browns qb since 99’ has been able to come close to having this degree of consistency in starts and td/int ratio.  It may seem a bit of a low bar to compare him to the last 20 years but he’s definitely been a vast improvement.  Then there is the supporting cast, Nick Chubb isn’t an aging Jamal Lewis with 1 or 2 seasons left in the tank, and Jarvis Landry is as consistent as anyone.

2. Quality base of drafted talent to work off of…

Aside from the players mentioned above, the Browns have had much more success in the draft of late than the first 10 years or so back in the league. Players like Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward, and Joel Bitonio all offer quality play from drafted player’s year in and out and will likely continue to do so for years to come, which was not the case in past years.

3. There winning, and there doing it how u want to see it…

No, the Browns haven’t beaten any top tier team this year, but they are scoring 30+ points in every game they win which is encouraging, how you win is important, if the offense was winning all squeakers just because the defense was really good it wouldn’t be as encouraging as seeing the offense control games week in and week out, you could say the team is winning in spite of its defense, however they are very good in 2 important categories, rush defense, and takeaways the latter they lead the league in.  There is at least some quality talent on defense too, not having the last 2 second round picks who were supposed to start on this defense definitely doesn’t help either…  Also who you beat is important and they at least have a victory against a winning team and one of the best defenses in the league in the Colts.
