Is this how it ends for the Eagles...on a Monday night at the Linc....fans all wearing black...perhaps to the funeral of Chip Kelly's vision for the midnight green birds?

To me it's odd the Birds are favored..but it was odd that the Falcons lost to the Saints.  Seems to me beating the Saints shouldn't equal the return of the 10-6 type Eagles yet the line is treating it that way.

The Giants are the same Giants they have been the last 5 years...capable of losing to anybody, capable of beating anybody..but they are dealing with a beat up receiving corps.  Still they love being the under dog on the road...which I think is a manifestation of Eli's personality...he likes being discounted.  Meanwhile I don't know what motivated Bradford.  Walt and others are saying Bradford will have plenty of time int he pocket...I'm not sure he's going to know what to do with it.  And it's beginning to get cold...tonight figures to be in the 40's which I'm not sure how Bradford does in the cold...I should go look it up.

Anyways...the spread tells me the Eagles are going to win despite it making no sense...but then again neither did ARI losing to Pitt or ATL losing to the Saints.

But if the better team, the Giants, were to win I got to think it be the beginning of the end for Chip.  With Carolina on deck, and catching Dallas as they begin to get healthy the Eagles could find themselves with 6 losses with no chance of doing better than last season record wise and a good chance of finishing with 9 - 10 losses as they hit ARI, NE, Buffalo later on in the season.  Considering under Chip the GM:

  • The offensive line is falling apart and it's scary as Peters begins to show his age
  • The QB is a fragile player that doesn't match the system
  • The receiving corp is mediocre without a real deep threat
  • The corners are average and overpaid
  • The linebacking corps can't stay healthy and the captain DeMarco Ryans is on the decline

Well to me if you go back and look at when Chip assumed GM control from Howie Roseman....I think now you can say that was a mistake.  And to me the way it ought to end if the Eagles can't get back to 10 - 6 is Chip has to give control back to Roseman...and then I'd leave it to Roseman if he wants to seek a coaching change or not.  That would be justice.  And that's the way it ought to work out.
