Being a fan is a wretched part of the human experience

So watching Mark Sanchez drive the Eagles down the field to try to save the game against the horrible Miami Dolphins and knowing that each pass he throws is increasing the chances for the inevitable interception lead me right to that queasy disgusting feeling of being right about how bad the team you root for is.  And I had to give a loud obnoxious laugh that lead to the wife from the other room asking what is wrong..and then giving some token explanation for the completely irrational situation of having my soul crushed by a Miami Dolphins interception.

Being a fan is a wretched part of the human experience...and then there is being a Philly fan....and then there is being a 76ers, trust the process, fan...which I happen to be as well.

Up until the 4th quarter of the 76ers 11th loss of the season I hadn't missed a minute of the horrible basketball the people who happen to be wearing 76ers uniforms are putting on display.  In the 12th loss I only made it to the 3rd quarter.  All I wanted was for a team that is slightly better on paper than the team from a year ago to get their 1st Win before all the winless streak type articles started coming.  Too late, they have arrived and now the trend is to tack the current 0 - 12 run on top of the 0-10 run from last season to really drive home the fact this is indeed Tank III.  And much like Godfather 3 this one is shaping up to be the worst one yet.

Now I know the 76ers have had one of the hardest schedules in the league.  And that they had injuries to their two leading scorers from last season..and while those scorers aren't super stars they were the best our bad team had.  And I know Okafor has looked solid.  And that PG play has not been the problem.  That if the shooters on the team were performing at their career averages the 76ers would have a win by now.

I also know that as it stands today the 76ers are slated to get 4 1st round picks...and their is a SF named Simmons who would give us our 5th best shot at drafting a potential star and that this should set the team up to be solid competitors for as much as a decade.

But all that doesn't change 0 - 12.  31 turnovers that make anything and everything a hater of the process says that much more damning.

I lost my point...I guess that's what a rant is.

The worst part is the way your team losing can carry over in how you enjoy the rest of your life.  You'll be eating a meal and enjoying the weather and then something will remind you that your teams stink and you just get depressed.  This is not healthy.
