The 76ers ownership balked, blinked, and caved in to the mob mentality kicking Hinkie out the door.

I'm bummed.  I"m not quite a Philly 4 for 4 guys.  I kind of ebb and flow between the Flyers and Sixers...only tune into baseball when they are good.  And burned out quickly on Chip Kelly's Eagles.  The Process had me hooked though.  I had been a band wagon jumper for the 2008 Philllies so figured why not be there when the band wagon is being built.  So I tuned in.

Yes I'm a Hinkie apologist but I don't think I was a Hinie-ite

  • I didn't want to tank for a 3rd season but I did want to stick with a young roster
  • I didn't want to trade MCW but the value in returned seemed viable
  • I wasn't in a rush to add average veterans but hated watching Aldemir play significant minutes, or Canaan be forced into a starting 2 guard position
  • Didn't really think we needed to clean house but did understand the idea of having a core of top tier talent develop togethor

I've watched a lot of very bad basketball.  Convinced myself that some young marginal players could develop into viable NBA Players...maybe one or two of them a viable NBA starter.  Just buying into the notion that the payoff will be down the line and I'll be acutely aware of all the moves that get the 76ers to that payoff.

Well still think there may be a payoff but the guy responsible for all the painful tanking, but also at least one top 5 pick in this year's draft, two top 10 picks joining the squad next season...well that guy is gone.  And gone with him is any sense that 76ers ownership is willing to be different...and now wonder if they really are simply thinking of flipping the team.
