2008 Mock Draft UPDATED MONDAY, APRIL 30!

2008 NFL Draft Player Rankings now being posted!

  1. Oakland Raiders: Jason Hill, WR, Washington State
Jason Hill is one of the faster receivers in the draft, so Al Davis will naturally be intrigued.

  2. Detroit Lions: Buster Davis, MLB, Florida State
I guess the Lions haven't heard of the NFL rule that states that you're doomed to go 3-13 if your starting middle linebacker's name is Paris.

  3. Cleveland Browns: Ryan Harris, OT, Notre Dame
I don't care if Cleveland's quarterback is Charlie Frye, Derek Anderson or Brevin Knight -- no signal caller can possibly have great success behind an offensive line that surrenders 54 sacks in a single season.

  4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Victor Abiamiri, DE, Notre Dame
Simeon Rice's tenure in Tampa Bay is almost up. Kevin Carter and Greg Spires are just as old.

  5. Arizona Cardinals: Brian Robison, DE/OLB, Texas
The Cardinals are thinking about switching to the 3-4. If that happens, they'll need the right personnel.

  6. Denver Broncos: Johnnie Lee Higgins, WR, UTEP
If Rod Smith, who turns 37 in May, continues to decline in 2007, Denver's only reliable receiver will be Javon Walker.

  7. Miami Dolphins: Laurent Robinson, WR, Illinois State
Miami desperately needs speed at wide receiver, and Laurent Robinson's 4.36 40 at his Pro Day may coax them into taking him.

  8. Minnesota Vikings: Kevin Kolb, QB, Houston
I know Tarvaris Jackson is slated to start, and he didn't really have much to work with last year, but does any Viking fan really think that he's the answer? If Jackson flops and Minnesota doesn't take a quarterback early, there could be Matt Millen-like riots in the Twin Cities.

  9. Houston Texans: Kenny Irons, RB, Auburn
I have to think the Texans will be targeting a running back with one of their first-day selections. Ahman Green is just too old and brittle to be relied upon.

  10. Buffalo Bills: Josh Wilson, CB, Maryland
I'm aware that Marv Levy promised Nate Clements he wouldn't franchise him, but with about $33 million in cap space, I still would have done so. But whatever, no one can do anything about it now; Clements is with the 49ers, who paid him about half of America's national debt. The Bills will need a corner to replace him.

  11. Atlanta Falcons: Drew Stanton, QB, Michigan State
Look, we don't know for sure if Michael Vick was aware that his relative was housing more than 60 dying dogs who were allegedly forced to participate in dog-fighting tournaments, but if he did, it's a thousand times worse than smoking weed or throwing tons of money around in a strip joint. Roger Goodell needs to act on this and suspend Vick for four to eight games. In the wake of this entire mess, Atlanta could begin its search for Vick's successor this year instead of next April.

  12. San Francisco 49ers: Paul Soliai, NT, Utah
San Francisco definitely needs a nose tackle who can clog the middle.

  13. Pittsburgh Steelers: Tony Hunt, RB, Penn State
The Steelers will be thrilled if Tony Hunt slips this far; Hunt will play Jerome Bettis' role in Pittsburgh's offense.

  14. Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rouse, SS, Virginia Tech
The Packers have absolutely no depth at the safety position.

  15. Jacksonville Jaguars: Quentin Moses, DE, Georgia
The Jaguars could use depth at defensive end, especially if Reggie Hayward goes down again.

  16. Tennessee Titans: Antonio Pittman, RB, Ohio State
It appears as though Bud Adams is still hibernating after a long winter, and didn't wake up in time to sign free agents. Now, he's stuck with LenDale "Chubby's" White as his only reliable running back.

  17. New York Giants: Lorenzo Booker, RB, Florida State
Reuben Droughns is only a temporary fix at running back. The Giants need a Tiki Barber-like electrifying runner to complement Brandon Jacobs.

  18. Kansas City Chiefs: Mike Walker, WR, Central Florida
Herman Edwards proved he doesn't know much about offense during his team's horrendous showing against Indianapolis, but even he can recognize that his receiving corps is complete garbage. I?ve read reports that the Chiefs are targeting Mike Walker in the third round.

  19. Carolina Panthers: Allen Barbre, OT, Missouri Southern
Jake Delhomme shouldered a lot of the blame for Carolina?s offensive struggles last season. He didn?t play particularly well, but neither did the offensive line. The Panthers could definitely use someone like Allen Barbre, who would allow Travelle Wharton to move inside.

  20. St. Louis Rams: Zak DeOssie, MLB, Brown
It's amazing how bad St. Louis' defense really is. Almost any first-day rookie could be an upgrade over anyone the Rams currently have.

  21. Seattle Seahawks: Ben Patrick, TE, Delaware
Jerramy Stevens is gone, but it's not like that matters much; the Seahawks needed a new tight end, regardless. I know they just signed Marcus Pollard, but he's just a temporary fix. Seattle needs a long-term solution.

  22. Denver Broncos: Gabe Hall, OT, Texas Tech
Gabe Hall, an offensive tackle who should be able to excel in a zone-blocking scheme, will eventually replace Adam Meadows.

  23. Dallas Cowboys: Anthony Waters, ILB, Clemson
One of the few holes Dallas has in its front seven is the lack of depth at inside linebacker.

  24. New Orleans Saints: Scott Chandler, TE, Iowa
An insurance policy for the newly signed Eric Johnson, who has missed 35 games the past four seasons.

  25. New York Jets: Paul Williams, WR, Fresno State
The Jets need better depth behind Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery.

  26. Philadelphia Eagles: H.B. Blades, MLB, Pittsburgh
The Eagles need someone to replace Jeremiah Trotter in a year or two.

  27. New England Patriots: Michael Coe, CB, Alabama State
New England needs depth at corner, especially if Randall Gay leaves.

  28. Buffalo Bills: Quincy Black, OLB, New Mexico
Another linebacker for the Bills, who lost Takeo Spikes and London Fletcher this offseason.

  29. San Diego Chargers: John Wendling, FS, Wyoming
The Chargers are extremely thin at safety. John Wendling will provide some much-needed depth.

  30. Chicago Bears: Martrez Milner, TE, Georgia
Another reliable tight end could only help Rex Grossman develop.

  31. Indianapolis Colts: Jonathan Wade, CB, Tennessee
If Jason David signs with the Saints, the Colts will have lost both of their starting cornerbacks this offseason.

  32. San Diego Chargers: Doug Free, OT, Northern Illinois
Once 34-year-old Roman Oben leaves, the Chargers won't have anything behind Marcus McNeill and Shane Olivea. Doug Free's a steal at this juncture.

  33. San Francisco 49ers: Josh Gattis, FS, Wake Forest
Signing Michael Lewis was a good move, but the 49ers could use another safety.

  34. Indianapolis Colts: Courtney Taylor, WR, Auburn
Indianapolis has nothing behind Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.

  35. Oakland Raiders: Samson Satele, C, Hawaii
More help for one of the worst offensive lines in NFL history. Drafting Samson Satele, a decent center for Oakland's new zone-blocking scheme, would allow Jake Grove to move to guard.
