Round 1

Picks 17-32
16. Seahawks: Troy Fautanu, G/OT, Washington

- Seattle usually trades down, especially if they're missing a Day 2 selection, but since they have a massive need on the offensive line they'll just take one of the best O-Line prospects available.

17. Jaguars: Cooper DeJean, S/CB, Iowa

- Jags biggest need is in the secondary.

18. Bengals: Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas

- Bengals need to replace DJ Reader's production and this guy has a good chance to be a solid replacement.

19. Rams: Dallas Turner, OLB, Alabama

- I think Turner will slide a little bit on draft night because of some concerns about his medicals that just came up, but I think this will only benefit a lucky playoff team that he will undoubtedly fall into the lap of.

- For some reason, I think it will be the Rams that pick him up.

20. Steelers: Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU

- The Steelers simply know how to evaluate and draft receivers better than most teams, but I don't think that will be the case here with Thomas, who's talent just simply jumps out on tape.

- As with the Rams pick, this is more so a case of a really good player falling into the lap of a playoff team later in the 1st round.

21. Dolphins: Graham Barton, G/OT, Duke

- The interior portion of Miami's O-Line is in need of some serious upgrades. Luckily for them they end up taking a player who is viewed by many analysts as the best guard in this class (although there are a number of other good options here as well).

22. Eagles: Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson

- The Eagles could also move up 10-12 picks in order to take one of Arnold or Mitchell, but I believe they will take one of the 2nd tier CBs (Wiggins or McKinstry).

13. Raiders: Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington

- Call this a panic selection. There's at least one of these every year on Thursday night.

- The Raiders know that they can trade down about 10 spots and they'd likely still end up with Penix, but it seems that they just might play it safe...like a bunch of idiots...

- Similar to Bo Nix, Penix is an early 2nd round talent and the Raiders should feel safe in trading down just for the simple fact that Bo Nix can be a fall back option for them in case another QB needy team decides to be just as dumb and jump on Penix early.

- Unfortunately, it seems like the Raiders will only settle for Penix, with Nix not even being on their radar. I hope I'm wrong and they end up taking a tackle or a defensive lineman at #13, but this just feels like one of those years where a team is going to reach for a 2nd round QB prospect in the top half of the 1st round.

23. Cardinals: Jared Verse, DE, Florida State

- With their second 1st round pick, the Cardinals will take the best edge rusher available.

24. Cowboys: Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn State

- Fashanu is a bit of a mystery to some analysts. Some have a really high grade on him, but others feel he will slide because he doesn't have as high of a ceiling as the other top tackles in this class. He seems like he could be a safe pick for a team that doesn't have serious holes on its offensive line.

26. Buccaneers: Chop Robinson, OLB/DE, Penn State

- The Bucs could really use another edge rusher.

27. Cardinals: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama

- Arizona fills a major need in their secondary with this selection.

- With three 1st round picks, the Cardinals were able to fill some major holes on their roster.

28. Bills: Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia

- After the loss of Gabe Davis in free agency and the trade of DIggs, the Bills find themselves in a situation where they need to replace some of the significant talent that they lost at that position.

- The Bills could go with Adonai Mitchell here, but I wouldn't be surprised if they went with McConkey.

29. Lions: Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon

- The Lions could just take BPA here, but you can make the case that they're doing just that with this pick while also filling a significant need at the same time.

30. Ravens: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia

- Baltimore's offensive line took a massive hit via free agency and trade, so they will look to replace what they lost.

31. 49ers: Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma

- Trent Williams is getting old and the Niners could choose to select his future replacement.

32. Chiefs: Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

- If Mitchell is selected by Buffalo, then McConkey will likely be the pick here.
