Round 1

- No need to explain this one...unless a Mitch Trubisky-like "brain fart" happens again to Chicago...

- Whether it's Daniels, Maye or even McCarthy (which would be really stupid imo), Washington will take a QB here.

- I don't think the Pats will take McCarthy, so it will either be Maye or Daniels here.

- I honestly do believe that Minny is planning to trade up for McCarthy, who I'm not particularly high on.
- This move would set this franchise back some, because I think the best case scenario of this move is McCarthy turning into another Kirk Cousins.
- Simply put...you don't package multiple premium picks for a long shot at getting another Kirk Cousins, no matter how much you liked the guy!

- The Chargers will be the biggest winners on Day 1 because they will end up taking, in my opinion, the best player in this entire class (this is coming from a diehard Buckeyes fan btw...)

- Not a bad consolation prize for the Giants thanks to all the QB needy teams

- Gotta protect Levis and Bill Callahan needs an anchor on the left side.

- Atlanta needs serious help with their pass rush. The only issue is there doesn't appear to be a definitive top guy in this position group.

- Bears trade down to acquire more picks and they get the franchise tackle for their new QB.

- Packers need a CB in the worst way and they trade up with Denver to get the best one in this class.

- Call this a panic selection. There's at least one of these every year on Thursday night.
- The Raiders know that they can trade down about 10 spots and they'd likely still end up with Penix, but it seems that they just might play it safe...like a bunch of idiots...
- Similar to Bo Nix, Penix is an early 2nd round talent and the Raiders should feel safe in trading down just for the simple fact that Bo Nix can be a fall back option for them in case another QB needy team decides to be just as dumb and jump on Penix early.
- Unfortunately, it seems like the Raiders will only settle for Penix, with Nix not even being on their radar. I hope I'm wrong and they end up taking a tackle or a defensive lineman at #13, but this just feels like one of those years where a team is going to reach for a 2nd round QB prospect in the top half of the 1st round.

- Indy needs a legit corner and they'd likely trade up for one, but they won't have to in this mock.
