Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Bears: C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State

I have him QB1 and most ready to play. I’ll change my mind when forced to by evaluators post pro days.

2. Colts: Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

Picks 4,35,79 and 2024 2nd. It’s a lot to give up for a QB who weighs 195. Houston needs the picks not being a ideal destination

3. Cardinals: Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia

Perfect fit for need and talent. Unless prison time comes into play

4. Texans: Will Anderson, DE, Alabama

Gotta love getting a top 2 pick at 4 with ammo to trade up and down the draft board

5. Seahawks: Tyree Wilson, DE, Texas Tech

2nd favorite prospect in the draft. Seattle really challenges the West with a revamped D. Any of the top FA QBs can lead this offense if Geno leaves somehow

6. Lions: Lukas Van Ness, DE, Iowa

It’s hard to fill in his name here this early. Murphy or a CB seems to early as well. I’m buying the hype that he will blossom into a great player while being a upgrade in year 1.

7. Raiders: Peter Skoronski, OT/G, Northwestern

It just feels like a great fit. I’m thinking he can be a plus right tackle or elite guard.

8. Commanders: Will Levis, QB, Kentucky

Picks 16, 47 and 2024 3. His floor is ok but worried about his ceiling. He can replace Howell by halftime week 1.

9. Bears: Paris Johnson, OT, Ohio State

Picks 9, 61 and 2024 3 for Fields and pick 132. Not a great tackle class but the Bears have severe protection issues. Focus on D can be through FA and 2024 draft

10. Eagles: Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon

Fills a need. Hard to settle on him, Witherspoon or Porter Jr. I think they are all worthy gambles.

11. Lions: Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State

Pick 18, 55. Lions fill a big need. Defense was better at the tail end of last year and adding to it so far won’t hurt.

12. Texans: Jordan Addison, WR, USC

More safe than sexy. Adding talent to a barren roster. I think they can get a top FA QB. They all could be 3-5 year buy-ins

13. Jets: Brian Branch, S, Alabama

My favorite prospect. Slot, FS, tackles, no measurable weakness(yet).

14. Patriots: Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee

I think he starts right away at either spot. I want to trade back but they’d lose the player and haven’t drafted well in middle rounds

15. Packers: Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame

Seems like a good spot and a need. Helps the run game and last years WR haul get less attention.

16. Falcons: Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU

Boom or bust again. They need help even as a run first team with a very questionable QB. Julio Jones comparisons are a bit wishful thinking
