Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

This sounds like a pretty sure thing at this point. I don't think Ward is special enough to be a franchise cornerstone but that is also what all other QB-needy teams feel. Therefore, no blow-away offers to trade back likely to come.

2. Browns: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

The next great talent to be wasted by an inept franchise. I see a great deal of frustration in this young man's future. You can't fault the Browns for making this pick but they just seem clueless in their team-building attempts.

3. Giants: Abdul Carter, OLB, Penn State

Carter is a smart pick here as he is BPA and they have numerous needs. Carter produced in college and will likely continue to do so for New York. The Giants are likely in top 5 again next year and can hope to land their QB of the future then. Having an improved defense will only make things easier for whoever they draft.

4. Patriots: Will Campbell, OT, LSU

This is a need pick for sure but Campbell has a long history playing against top competition so is a nice low-floor option here. Of course, the Pats would love to trade back but, like the Titans, it takes two to tango and I'm not sure anyone sees this as the jump point to go get Sanders.

5. Jaguars: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

Jeanty is a rare player that can make an immediate impact. It's questionable that the Jags aren't addressing the offensive line here but then again, they could try in later rounds as Jeanty is a special talent ane maybe worth the risk.

6. Raiders: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri

I initially thought that the Raiders would go with a playmaker here but OT would be a smart move given how well Geno throws from a clean pocket.

7. Jets: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

Warren would give Fields a sure-handed safety valve and help boost his confidence. This would be a great pick for the Jets.

8. Panthers: Jalon Walker, OLB, Georgia

Walker is the pass rusher that they have sorely lacked after trading Burns. This would be a great fit.

9. Saints: Mykel Williams, DE, Georgia

Mykel Williams is a safe pick and will give the Saints an area of strength as they have a nice 3 man rotation at DE now. Unfortunately, they have many other needs as well.

10. Bears: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

Since the Bears did shore up some of their weaknesses in free agency, they can afford to go with BPA here. Graham would be a great building piece for their front 7 and excellent value at 10.

11. 49ers: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Hard to dismiss the obvious ties to Harbaugh but the talent speaks for itself. Johnson would be a great fit for the 49ers and likely an instant starter.

12. Cowboys: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

It would be hard to pass up on a big receiver opposite of Lamb. The Cowboys have gone several years without a fitting complement there.

13. Dolphins: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

Starks is a difference-maker and will elevate the defense as a whole. He is a nice keystone leader that will help set the tone.

14. Colts: Kelvin Banks, OT/G, Texas

It seems like the Colts really want to run the football and they need to protect Richardson if they want to really see if he has what it takes. Banks would be great value here.

15. Falcons: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

A team that has a lot of offensive talent clearly needs to bolster their defense. Grant may not be the sexy pick but he is solid and will help bolster their run defense.

16. Cardinals: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas

Some may consider this a reach and a luxury when the Cards can use some offensive line help. However, the impact of a speedster like Golden is potentially huge.
