PrimetimePerri 2026 NFL Mock 2.3 (No Trade)

A bit of a larger update from Mock 2.1. Free Agency and Pro Days will likely continue to change the selections.

Round 1

Picks 1-16 Picks 17-32
1.
Fernando Mendoza , QB , Indiana
At this point, we’re all just counting down the days until Fernando Mendoza hears his name called first overall. The draft basically begins at pick 2.
2.
Arvell Reese , LB , Ohio State
There’s been some buzz about David Bailey going here instead since he’s the more polished edge rusher. But Reese’s hybrid ability and upside are tough to pass on. Sometimes you just bet on potential.
3.
David Bailey , DE , Texas Tech
This is my first real trade-down candidate. Arizona has holes everywhere—QB, O-line, and defence. They could potentially get a decent return here. But with no trades in this mock, Bailey is the pick to play opposite of Josh Sweat.
4.
Jeremiyah Love , RB , Notre Dame
This one still confuses me a bit. The Titans don’t need a RB, but Love would make life way easier for Cam Ward. Could be a trade spot, or they just take the best player available and move off Tony Pollard (easy to do with minimal dead cap).
5.
Sonny Styles , LB , Ohio State
I was never fully sold on the Caleb Downs top-5 hype, even though the noise was loud. I think it starts to cool off. Instead, they grab his teammate Sonny Styles, who can do a bit of everything at a high-level.
6.
Carnell Tate , WR , Ohio State
Offensive-line got addressed in free agency, so now it’s about weapons. Carnell Tate might not be flashy, but he’s got legit vertical threat potential for Todd Monken’s offence.
7.
Caleb Downs , S , Ohio State
Washington has spent a lot of time around Downs, especially at his Pro Day. It feels like it’s between him and Rueben Bain, but with recent edge additions, Downs makes more sense here.
8.
Rueben Bain Jr. , DE , Miami
If Bain falls to pick 8, that’s a steal. Simple as that. With long-time edge rusher Cameron Jordan likely on his way out, the timing couldn’t be better.
The Chiefs have to go corner here, right? After moving on from three starting corners, they need a replacement. I liked McCoy’s older tape more, but Delaine’s Pro Day may have finally given him the edge.
10.
Francis Mauigoa , OT , Miami
No change here. Protecting Joe Burrow is always the priority. Mauigoa’s versatility means he can step in immediately at guard or right-tackle.
11.
Makai Lemon , WR , USC
Miami needs… everything. After moving on from Jaylen Waddle, this feels like a cheaper reset at receiver while helping new QB Malik Willis.
12.
Jermod McCoy , CB , Tennessee
Dallas has two first-rounders, so a trade-up is possible—but not in this mock. They’ll likely target edge, interior D-line, and CB. McCoy is the best option on the board.
13.
Jordyn Tyson , WR , Arizona State
Tyson’s stock is slipping due to injuries, but with the weird Puka Nacua situation (seriously… what’s happening?), the Rams might need a replacement sooner than expected.
14.
Olaivavega Ioane , G , Penn State
The Ravens lost key interior Offensive-line pieces. With Derrick Henry not getting any younger, adding a mauler like Ioane just makes sense for a SuperBowl contending team.
15.
Akheem Mesidor , DE , Miami
There’s alot of talk about replacing Mike Evans, but I wouldn’t go receiver here. The pass rush needs help more, and Mesidor brings that despite being an older, less “flashy” prospect.
16.
Ty Simpson , QB , Alabama
The Jets + Ty Simpson feels inevitable—it’s just about when. 16 might be early, but QBs always rise in the draft. For Simpson, sitting behind Geno Smith for a year would be ideal, although his services may needed sooner.
