Round 2
Carolina hated the run on WRs to end round 1. They take solace in addressing the pass rush with Bralen Trice, who could easily have gone off the board 10 picks sooner.
If New England's offense isn't instantly improved with the trade for Fields, drafting MHJ and now Guyton at OT, I'm not sure what more they could do. They could also look at Trice or Chris Braswell to address the edge rush here.
The Cardinals have had quite a good mock so far, addressing their top 3 areas of need (WR, CB, EDGE) in the first 35 picks of the draft.
Washington adds protection for their new QB in the form of Kingsley Suamataia, a 6'6", 315 pound OT from BYU.
The other major area of need (besides receiving corps) for the Chargers in this draft is cornerback, and they address that here.
TRADE!
LV gets #38 pick, 2024 draft
TEN gets #44 & 113 picks, 2024 draft
The Raiders jump up to ensure the Giants and Vikings don't go QB here and grab Michael Penix Jr. out of Washington.
The Giants shift Evan Neal to guard and replace him at RT with Patrick Paul. The O-line is the reason Daniel Jones ended up on IR last year - no matter how many weapons end up in NY, it has to be fixed.
The Commanders (why aren't they the Commanders on this website? That's silly.) quietly put a nice 2-round mock together with Jayden Daniels, Kingsley Suamataia, and now a CB with Round 1 value in Kamari Lassiter.
If Patrick Paul was still here, GB would take him. He's not, so they double down on secondary talent. The combination of McKinstry and Kinchens is a pretty substantial haul early.
The wait for JJ McCarthy ends at #42, as he lands in Minnesota as the heir apparent to Kirk Cousins. I expect the Vikes to re-sign Cousins and have McCarthy sit behind him for a year as he develops his pro game.
I almost went CB here, but I think Atlanta likes Clark Phillips as their CB2. Instead, the Falcons give new QB Jayden Daniels another WR.
(from LV in trade for #38 pick)
McConkey gives Tennessee a weapon who can work in underneath space and run quality crossing routes.
The Saints went edge rush in round 1, and now significantly upgrade their left guard position with Cooper Beebe.
The first 2 picks have gone nicely for Indianapolis, as they pick up talent at their 2 primary positions of need (WR and CB).
The Giants turn to defense at #47. Tyler Nubin stabilizes the safety position - they'll likely lose Xavier McKinney to free agency, and Nubin can step into his place.
The Jags may need a replacement for Zay Jones, and Walker is a better value at #48 than the OTs currently on the board.
Value pick for Cincinnati, who address their D-line with a player who could have gone 10-15 picks sooner.
(from PHI in trade for #12 pick)
The D-line train continues with Denver, who pick the versatile Brandon Dorlus from Oregon (who can play multiple positions along the line).
Another player who just screams "Steelers" to me. Pittsburgh saw what happened to their linebacking corps when TJ Watt went down last year - Trotter Jr. is a great legacy addition.
The Rams add to their pass rush corps with Adisa Isaac out of Penn State.
The Eagles draft Jackson Powers-Johnson as the heir apparent to longtime center Jason Kelce. He's not in the database here but I have him rated above Sedrick Van Pran at the position.
The Browns are finally on the board at #54 and double down on a position of strength. Taylor plays the 3-technique well which provides value to Cleveland's scheme.
The Dolphins pick up a tight end here as a pass catching weapon for Tua. Sanders is the 2nd best TE in the draft class.
The Cowboys are suddenly vulnerable at linebacker, and address that need in-state with a quality player in Edgerrin Cooper.
The 2nd round run on DTs continues as Tampa Bay upgrades its D-line with Kris Jenkins out of Michigan.
I could also mock Kiran Amegadjie (OT from Yale) here but he's not in the database. Instead, Green Bay invests in the RB position - AJ Dillon is a free agent and Aaron Jones is frequently hurt.
Intriguing prospect here - Corley's called the "YAC King" for his awesome post-catch skills. CJ Stroud could benefit from another quality short passing target.
Tampa may be more of a slot CB prospect, but the Bills could use an upgrade in general at the position.
It was tough watching Frank Ragnow gut through the playoffs injured due a lack of depth. Zach Frazier offers some stability on the interior O-line.
The Ravens add depth on the edge with Elliss, who will step into their pass rush rotation.
As alluded to in Round 1, the Chris Jones situation always gets unstable during the offseason - and at some point, that contract may become untenable. The Chiefs go interior DL here.
Much like Jordan Morgan, I like this pick a lot for the Niners. Bullock has great size at 6'3" and is a strong tackler that breaks well on the ball.
