Round 1
Chicago seems to be locked in on Williams now. I get it. The arm talent is incredible. Usually when there is a question around the QB position and there is a prospect like this, well. It makes sense but I think they will have to grab another receiver at 9 to pair with Moore.
This seems like more of a lock to me every day. But there's always the off chance they move up and take Williams given that Kingsbury worked with him. But it's Daniels over Maye. It just fits with the Kliff Kingsbury hire. Bet it while you can. Jayden Daniels put up some incredible numbers last season. Like better than Joe Burrow type numbers. If they had a decent defense no one was beating them. The only thing I worry about with Jayden Daniels is the hits he was taking. But that's coachable. Just get down. They're also going to need a lot of help on defense.
There is no way this pick is McCarthy. Think someone could trade for this pick to take Maye. But, if they aren't sold on Maye they might wait until round two to grab Nix or Penix if they're still available. Originally I thought they would trade for Fields and trade this pick to the Vikings. Guess not.
People seem to think they want to trade out of this pick but I don't understand why. They have a chance to land the best player in the draft and also fills a huge need. They already have another first round pick so just take Marvin Harrison.
The Chargers are solid at both tackle spots so I don't see them taking tackle this early, especially with their top two receivers off the roster. Will more than likely be Vikings trading into this spot. But for now I am not doing any trade predictions.
If they pass on one of these receivers to take f***ing J.J. McCarthy everyone is going to get fired. Especially if they trade up to three to get him. They have a rare chance to land one of the best receivers in an already elite receiver class. They made the playoffs two years ago when Daniel Jones was healthy. They have arguably the worst receiving core in the league. They can either take Nabers or Odunze here, it's all preference as they are different types of receivers. Just take one of the two and help your QB out. Maybe the O line is so bad because no one gets open. Odunze is a really smart route runner and the 50/50 balls are more like 90/10. Dude knows how to get open and if he's not he'll catch it anyway.
Well, receiver is out of the question here. The only other way I see this going is them making a pick on defense, more than likely Dallas Turner. But I think building around Levis is their priority.
Atlanta is kind of sneakily in a good spot. Did they overspend in free agency a bit? Yes. They seem to be a QB and some pressure off the edge away from being capable of making a deep playoff run. I think Turner solidified himself as being the first edge rusher off the board, if not defensive player. Turner could go sooner but I don't think he goes later than here.
Ok well now they have Keenan Allen too so this really frees up where they can go. And I think this is the first real spot someone will reach for a quarterback. More than likely Denver or LV jumping Minnesota. But if they stay I kind of like this fit. Or on the O line.
Ok well they made a whole offensive line via free agency. Well done. Now I think they'll have a chance to grab one of the best players in the draft here in Bowers. This pick has to be the best offensive player available and this I think is a steal. There are going to be some really good receivers coming out of this draft and Odunze one of the best. Really smart route runner and the 50/50 balls are more like 90/10. Dude knows how to get open and if he's not he'll catch it anyway.
I think they have much bigger needs than a QB here. And they're also going to move up for McCarthy but not doing trades yet.
Haha what the hell are they going to do? Dangeruss Experiment. Sorry, bad joke. But in all seriousness so was the Russell Wilson contract. I think they throw a QB into this mess here.
Lot of versatility with Fuaga here as he played right tackle at Oregon State but can also play guard. He fits here. Originally had him to the Jets but they built a whole offensive line via free agency.
I can honestly see them taking a receiver or corner here but the book says otherwise. They need help on the edge of both lines so I think they're more likely to address that but they seem to always take the best player available.
Corners are all preference in this draft in that there is no for sure first one off the board. Each guy brings a different skillset. But I think if you're looking for the best cover guy it's Mitchell. Could see Terrion Arnold too if they're looking for more of zone scheme.
The biggest weakness they've had the last few years has been stopping the run. The pick needs to be on the defensive line. Byron Murphy has been flying up the board and I think he fits perfectly here. Especially with the Baltimore defensive coordinator taking over.
