Round 1

Picks 17-32
16. Seahawks: Cooper DeJean, S/CB, Iowa

Scrappy lunchpail guy with a really high IQ. That's what you're getting with a player like this. Will lead his men on the field and take your daugther out for a really nice time and bring her back before dusk. Likes a good meal, but not too much spice. The Seahawks work towards building another elite secondary.

19. Rams: Laiatu Latu, DE, UCLA

The Rams have an absolutely massive hole to fill due to Aaron Donald's retirement. Latu of UCLA doesn't have to travel far to join his new team.

17. Jaguars: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama

The Jaguars get another CB to run with those pesky WRs. Is Trevor Lawrence the guy? We might find out on the new season of NFL coming Fall 2024.

20. Broncos: Bo Nix, QB, Oregon

TRADE (Steelers pick #12)
The Broncos trade back to nab a QB in the first round. They could also trade further from pick #20; I don't see to many suitors for Bo Nix this early in the draft. I also doubt that Sean Payton has the patience to start Jarrett Stidham at QB after last season.

21. Dolphins: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia

This makes a lot of sense strategically as the Dolphins' QB is a lefty and their star offensive tackle is on the left side of the line. Mims is a physical specimen who could guard Tua's blindside (on the right).

24. Cowboys: Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma

The Cowboys will develop Guyton into a star - it is just part of the Cowboys lore to do so. The Cowboys have had a top offensive line for quite some time now, but have not capitalized on it. It will be interesting to see whether Dak leaves after the upcoming season and what the fallout of that would look like, if any.

18. Bengals: Troy Fautanu, G/OT, Washington

The Bengals, in my opinion, overspent on mid interior offensive linemen after losing to the Rams in the Super Bowl a few years back. It is still not a great line, and this pick could help to protect Joe Burrow.

22. Eagles: Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon

The Eagles select one of the highest-graded college Centers of all-time to fill Jason Kelce's shoes. They could also select an offensive tackle or cornerback.

25. Packers: Chop Robinson, OLB/DE, Penn State

The Packers get another defensive piece to aid their young and talented core. Year 2 for Jordan Love and the Packers should be a good one.

26. Buccaneers: Taliese Fuaga, G/OT, Oregon State

The Buccaneers will continue to drone on as a franchise after Tom Brady's departure last offseason. Somehow, Mike Evans will get another 1000 yard season and the Bucs will settle around .500. They select an offensive lineman to protect newly-extended Baker Mayfield.

27. Cardinals: Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo

The Cardinals bolster their secondary with their second pick of Round 1. Arizona's GM Monti Ossenfort was a scout for the Patriots for a long time. This pick is from the Texans, who traded up with the Cardinals at last year's draft to select Will Anderson. I got nothing else.

29. Lions: Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas

The Lions have been the best drafters over the past few years. They pick the best players at their positions of need.I wouldn;t say that this is a pick of need, but gets them the best defensive player left on the board. I'm hoping for good things for the Lions and I think that they can become America's team under HC Dan Campbell.

31. 49ers: Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

Even if the 49ers do not trade Brandon Aiyuk, they will need someone to replace him down 'The Road' starring Viggo Mortenson. Christian McCaffrey's brother and Jerry Rice's son are also in this draft. I'm looking forward to see how similar their athletic genes are to their NFL family members.

28. Bills: Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU

The Bills obviously have a hole at the receiver position. This pick gives Josh Allen a good red zone target. It's a big year for the QB and the franchise; will they sink or swim? This receiver could be gone earlier, and/or the Bills could trade up to get a receiver they want.

30. Ravens: Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

The Ravens offense runs on speed. This selection gives them a turbo boost to that speed. Worthy broke the combine's 40-yard dash record. Whether that talent translates to the field remains to be seen.

32. Chiefs: Ennis Rakestraw Jr., CB, Missouri

The Chiefs lost L'Jarius Sneed to the Titans in a recent trade. This pick gives them another option at CB. It could also very well end up being a WR at pick #32.
