The Truth
Round 2
The most NFL-ready QB. If Geno Smith is replaced for any reason, Nussmeier should be able to come in and get the job done. He also has what it takes to be the Jets franchise QB.
34.
Although we haven't seen a ton of games played, there are not enough concrete reasons to critique this young man. He looks like a smooth, well put together individual who can make the throws that need to be made. He also has some play-making ability that presents upside potential. I think he should start on day one because I can't imagine Arizona being any more crazy than what Simpson experienced in Alabama last season.
Good team comments after top-30 visit. Tennessee needs to improve on their running game even if they can't secure Love. Bisontis gets pushed back sometimes while pass blocking, but he's really good when pulling and blocking downfield.
Caleb Lomu reminds me a lot of Will Campbell. He has a good frame, but he's not as tough as you'd like him to be. Nonetheless, he's an improvement to what the Raiders have on the o-line.
Team allowed 5.3 yds/carry. Lee Hunter helps to stop the run and is also quick enough to penetrate.
Better contrast to David Montgomery than Jahdarian Price.
2 sacks, but only 20 years old. May get stronger. 6'6 275. Since Cleveland has a solid defense, they can afford to draft potential.
Brazzell is a high-point receiver that provides a good target in the red zone. He also uses his body well and could develop into a procession receiver anywhere on the field.
Position upgrade. Could be one of the steals of the draft. I'm just not seeing what this man can't do. He would bring some welcome play-making ability to the defensive side of the ball in Cincinnati.
Has good measurables. Played at a smaller program in Georgia St. Ted Hurst will develop better if he's not depended on as a go to receiver. He should fit well as a pair with Chris Olave. The emergence of Tyler Shough at QB and incoming Travis Etienne at RB should provide for a new threat in the South.
Ja'Kobi Lane is a good receiver. I could see him becoming a favorite target. He has good height, good speed, good agility, and makes contested catches. Since Miami needs multiple receivers, I think it's wise to draft big here, then small later.
Chris Bell has similar traits to AJ Brown. He will be a good complement to the Jets' existing speed of Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell.
Good scheme fit and versatility as an edge option. Good speed and plays well in space.
46.
If C.J. Allen is still available here for the Bucs, it would be a pleasant surprise. He fits perfectly in Todd Bowles' defense. Fast, aggressive, and a good tackler. I wouldn't be upset, if Tampa drafted C.J. Allen in the 1st round and settled for Vanderbilt's Eli Stowers in this spot. I think Stowers is the second best pass-catching TE in this draft behind Kenyon Sadiq. Since I have Sadiq going to Tampa with the 15th pick, this would be a strategic risk swap... hedging against the risk of C.J. Allen not being available at pick 46. Note: Trey Moore ran 4.54 at the combine as an Edge player. He also played some OLB at the second level and would be a good selection in later rounds.
The loss of Michael Pittman creates a void that needs to be filled if the Colts want to pick up where they left off when Daniel Jones was injured last season. Malachi Fields is a tad bit slower than Pittman, but Fields is a tad bit taller and can go up and get it.
A well-known and soon to be well-received play-maker that played at Georgia rival, Alabama. Given the vertical threats, the Falcons already have in Drake London and Kyle Pitts, Germie Bernard could add more dynamic crossing route and RPO concepts to the Falcons offense.
Imagine Kyler Murray, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jadarian Price on turf. Contrary to other mocks, I think Kevin O'Connell should draft offensive skill players with his first two picks. Time to crank it up and stop messing around.
Position need. Unlikely to move Jack Campbell at MLB, so I chose Kyle Louis over Jacob Rodriguez.
Packers were good but not great at corner last season.
Need to improve in terms of pass yards allowed.
Could help an already good defense be even better. One of the best corners in the draft falls due to the uncertainty in his injury. Jermod McCoy has elite skills and if healthy will surely be a difference-maker. Since Philly already has a solid defense, they can afford to take the time and risk that others might not be able to.
Position assistance. Bud Clark has impressive measurables in terms of speed and jumping ability. He can help an already good pass defense be even better.
With Travis Hunter expected to play more corner than receiver this season, Skyler Bell could step in and contribute to the offense. He's a quick receiver that contrasts with the size of Brian Thomas and Jakobi Meyers.
I don't know if Moore will be an every down player at edge. Either way, he's an electric player that will make plays. I have him ahead of T.J. Parker because his stats improved last season whereas Parker's stats descended. Cashius Howell mainly plays standing up. Tad bit more productive than Derrick Moore. Howell ran 4.59 at the combine. I'm giving Moore the tie-breaker over Howell because he played close to Chicago in college.
San Francisco was last in sacks last season. Malachi Lawrence should have had more production in college. Never had more than 7.5 sacks, despite impressive measurables. He's explosive off the line, but lacks the agility to finish plays at the QB. Overall, 6'4" 260lbs, 4.52, and 40 inch vert. will likely be drafted in the first two rounds. Lawrence is much faster than last year's pick, Mykel Williams.
The Texans could really use some electricity like this in their dome. Uncertainty surrounds Tank Dell's injuries. Deion Burks is Dante Hall reborn, and would be a good selection if Branch is no longer on the board.
Domonique Orange is a run-stopper, and Chicago will take all of the help than can get on their defensive line.
The Rams have players at every position including the league MVP at quarterback. Why not draft an athletic QB that no one would be prepared to defend. Sean McVay would be just the mad scientist for the job.
Denver has a bunch of TE's on their roster, but none are Eli Stowers. He's a pass-catching TE that runs a 4.51 and jumps 45.5 inches. What!
New England has made Edge rush a point of emphasis in their scouting. Several were brought into for top 30 visits.
The only positions Seattle addressed in FA were DB and RB. That tells me that the coaching staff feels like that was an area of need. The players brought in will compete, but are not slated to start. Jonah Coleman should be able to provide a one-two punch in the backfield in the absence of Kenneth Walker.
