Round 1
Daniels fits better with the style of offense Dan Quinn wants to run over Maye & McCarthy. The Heisman Trophy winner will be a day 1 starter. There are some concerns about his frail frame so they'll have to find some O-line help later in the draft.
Been going back and forth between Maye and McCarthy and I think it's pretty close in the Patriots front office between the two. They'll lean towards Maye but he'll probably sit behind Jacoby Brissett to start the season.
Minnesota has to trade up after securing a 2nd 1st Rd pick. It's going to take both of those picks plus next years 1 & 4 to pull this trade off with Arizona. McCarthy, like Maye, will not be the opening day starter but he will eventually take over as the Vikings fall out of playoff contention.
4) JJ MCCARTHY-QB-MICHIGAN
108) DOMINICH PUNI-G-KANSAS
129) JALEN MCMILLAN-WR-WASHINGTON
157) NELSON CEASAR-EDGE-HOUSTON
167) LEONARD TAYLOR-DL-MIAMI
177) CHAU SMITH WADE-CB-WASHINGTON ST
230) JOSHUA KARTY-PK-STANFORD
232) GABE HALL-DL-BAYLOR
Alt over Harrison? Absolutely. Harbaugh will find some competent WR's later on but elite OT's like Alt are hard to come by. He wants to have a dominant O-line and Alt will start right away at RT.
How about the Giants luck getting Marvin Harrison Jr at 6. The run on QB's hurts and helps them at the same time. The current regime doesn't have time to wait for a rookie QB, they need to win now to save their jobs and Harrison gives them the best shot at doing that.
Arizona is stocked with picks now and they can move back up to take Nabers here. Tennessee gets picks #11 & #66 and move back with Alt being off the board. Nabers will be the new WR1 Kyler Murray needs.
Most mock drafts have this marriage and with the way the board falls I'm going with it too. Make sense and Turner had a great pre-draft process.
3 trades in the top 10 is just fun. The Bears need more picks and Vegas needs to get ahead of rival Denver to steal Penix. It costs them picks #13, #77 & #208. O'Connell is a back up at best and Minshew can hold the starting job until Penix is ready.
The Jets are going to get Rodgers a pass catcher, be it 1 of the top WR's or Bowers. Odunze's on the board still due to the run on QB's. He plays a more important position than Bowers so he's the pick and will help form formidable WR group in New York.
10) ROME ODUNZE-WR-WASHINGTON
72) KIRAN AMEGAGJIE-OT-YALE
111) ANDRU PHILLIPS-CB-KENTUCKY
134) NATHANIEL WATSON-LB-MISSISSIPPI ST
185) JOE MILTON-QB-TENNESSEE
257) JASE MCCLELLAN-HB-ALABAMA
258) TREY TAYLOR-S-AIR FORCE
Tennessee trades down and still gets the 2nd best LT prospect in the draft. He's a bit raw but he'll be thrown right into the starting spot for the Titans. They need to give Will Levis every chance to succeed to see if he is going to be their starter past this year.
Denver, like the Bears, need some more mid Rd picks so they trade back and get picks #15 & #82 from the Colts in exchange for #12 & #203. Indy wants weapons for Richardson and Bowers is the only true starting TE in this years draft.
Chicago gets Verse to bookend Montez Sweat. They get much better value here at #13 than if they would have stuck at #9 plus picked up a couple extra picks they were lacking in the process.
1) CALEB WILLIAMS-QB-USC
13) JARED VERSE-EDGE-FLORIDA ST
75) CADE STOVER-TE-OHIO ST
77) COLE BISHOP-S-UTAH
122) JOHNNY WILSON-WR-FLORIDA ST
208) CAEDEN WALLACE-OT-PENN ST
New Orleans goes with Fautanu here and will play him at LT. RT Ramczyk might miss next year and former 1st Rd pick Penning hasn't panned out at LT. They can swing Penning to RT and play Fautanu at LT if Ramczyk misses time or have Penning battle Hurst for LG if Ramczyk's healthy.
Denver trades down and gets the 1st corner off the board in Arnold. They can start him opposite Patrick Surtain to form an all Alabama CB duo.
14) TERRION ARNOLD-CB-ALABAMA
76) RUKE ORHORHORO-DL-CLEMSON
82) DYLAN MCMAHON-C-NORTH CAROLINA ST
120) MICHAEL PRATT-QB-TULANE
136) LUKE MCCAFFREY-WR-RICE
145) TYLAN GRABLE-OT-UCF
147) JAVON SOLOMON-EDGE-TROY
207) BREVYN SPANN FORD-TE-MINNESOTA
Seattle is entertaining trade down offers but with Murphy still on the board they stay put and snag him to pair with Leonard Williams on the D-line.
16) BYRON MURPHY-DL-TEXAS
81) CHRISTIAN HAYNES-G-UCONN
102) JAYLAN FORD-LB-TEXAS
118) SIONE VAKI-S-UTAH
179) ERICK ALL-TE-IOWA
192) ISAIAH DAVIS-HB-SOUTH DAKOTA ST
235) JAYLEN HARRELL-EDGE-MICHIGAN
