I suspect Brady didn't care that much but when asked simply let his preference be known for the PSI of the given footballs.

Did it help him?  Probably. 

But as a guy who's 5'11 with smaller hands let me say this….GOOD!  This isn't me but for the purposes of my rant you can imagine the guy obsessed with his hands from It's Always Sunny is me..

Football is the only major sport where the equipment itself limits participation at the highest level.

• They don’t make baseballs too big for the average guy to grip.
• They don’t force batters to swing bats that are too heavy.
• Anyone can kick a soccer ball.
• A puck can be stickhandled by anyone willing to try.
• Even a basketball, while easier for bigger guys to palm, is still usable by everyone. (And you aren't supposed to palm it.)

Of course America’s biggest sport has a little elitism baked right into the ball itself.  Why not have that guy date the head cheerleader while you're at it.

I get it there are hierarchies in the world and when it comes to physical competition I was never going to make my high school team as sports are for the bigger and faster guys in the world.  But to go to throw a regulation size football and realize how limiting that is when its easy enough to swap in a smaller ball is a jerkstore, nay, jerkfactory, type move.

Here the league wants to expand its collision-heavy export to all the other countries of the world, but to be the guy who gets to read the player and make the decisions on where the ball goes you need to be in the top 25% hand size wise per quick estimate from ChatGPT.  So yes I have tinier hands but me picking up a ball and realizing this hard limitation is something 3 out of 4 guys exerience.  Great job NFL. 

But as a member of the Small Hands Community, despite being an Eagles fan, I’m pro-deflation.
